Your Insurance Company Does Not Want You to Know This

“Your Insurance Company Does Not Want You to Know This”

Have you seen this enticing statement on Facebook or the web? This amounts to what I call “lead chum”. If you fish, like I do, you know that chum is that smelly stinky stuff, composed of who knows what, a fisherman dumps into the water to attract any kind of fish he can. The idea is that he is not fishing for a specific kind of fish but any kind that is in the water. Catching any kind of fish is better than none at all, right?

The company advertising like this is most likely what we call an “Aggregator” in insurance. They collect leads and pass them on to insurance companies and agents who are willing to pay for them. The verbiage they use on their “chum page” is not necessarily specific to your state. They want folks to use their service no matter where you live. I see a lot of these aggregators on Facebook “click-throughs”. They know how to “reel” you in with statements like “Your Insurance Company Does Not Want You to Know this” and “The Insurance Companies Dirty Little Secret”. What they don’t tell you is that insurance agents and insurance companies are their source of income! How’s that for a “red herring”?

While you may actually be able to save money shopping this way, your information will most likely end of in the hands of several hungry insurance agents.

Like a pack (or flock or whatever) of hungry sharks these agents are in a hurry to beat the other agent to the bait. This kind of activity will certainly turn you off to the shopping process and give you a massive haddock.. Unless, that is, you can find a comparative rating system that guarantees not to sell your information to other agencies. Just one shark er agent is enough as long as they are an experienced, competent Independent with quality companies.

The moral of this fish story is whether you’re checking rates on porpoise or for the halibut, give our comparative rater a try. You can check our rates anytime by going to www.CoverMyLife.com . Not all our companies participate with our rater so these rates are not necessarily the best we can do. We will take your information and finish the comparisons for you. When you check our rates online only you and I see the information you provide. No other agent will pester you, just me. Whether you are trying to insure your Cuda or Stingray, one hungry Tiburon is enough.
